I had to move him because I watched him slowly nip away to NOTHING the pectoral fins of my 2 new dwarf gourami fish. They're so pretty, and I love the little characters they have; for instance they swim to the top when they are ready to eat and they will follow my finger along the glass of the tank. One of them is like the main picture, and the other is like the one on the top of the column to the right.
I'm quite a fan of them. I really wouldn't mind getting 1 or 2 more. I thought they'd be pretty temperamental fish (I had previously heard they are easily stressed and can die quickly) but mine have been fantastic! It could be because I have quite a few plants in the tank, so they have some dense areas to hide in; but they are also the largest size fish in my tank, so I think the others leave them alone.
I've been maintaining my tank by cleaning the gravel/doing a 25%-30% water change weekly, using a de-chlorinator, and using AmQuel Plus to keep the ammonia levels down and regulated. I could actually just use the AmQuel Plus to de-chlroinate... but that just seemed weird. I need to get more Fish Protector by Novalek. I like to add it after I've cleaned/changed water to help keep the fish stress-free.
